We’re getting email and tweets from New Zealanders about ready to sharpen their pitchforks and light their torches as the iPhone 4, supposed to launch today, is nowhere to be found.

Apple’s saying nothing. Vodafone is saying nothing. And no one is getting anything.

BlackBerry maker RIM has registered BlackPad.com. No, I’m not making that up.

Research In Motion has recently taken over the domain name “BlackPad.com”. Now, despite what you think of the name itself, many folks are eluding to the fact that this URL could be one of many used for the rumored upcoming BlackBerry Tablet. Now while we here would like to believe that as well, the fact is Research In Motion owns over 4,000+ registered domain names already.

Phew. But so help me if this time next year we have iPad, PalmPad, and BlackPad — someone’s getting punched in the marketing department.

Chi opera nel campo del web design di certo ben saprà quanto, in determinate circostanze, possano andare a risultare piuttosto comodi, oltre che estremamente utili, tutta una serie di appositi servizi online ideati esattamente al fine di rendere ben più leggero il compito in questione.

Ad esempio, al fine di facilitare di gran lunga la scelta e l’applicazione dei fonts relativi ad un dato sito web, si potrebbe considerare l’idea di ricorrere all’utilizzo di uno strumento quale FontFonter, in modo tale da andare ad operare, successivamente, sul foglio di stile adottato in modo ben più preciso e mirato.

FontFonter, infatti, non è altro che un pratico ed utilissimo applicativo online, utilizzabile in modo completamente gratuito e senza dover effettuare alcun tipo di registrazione per il suo utilizzo, il cui scopo consiste, per l’appunto, nel permettere di sostituire temporaneamente i fonts adottati da un dato sito web in modo tale da poter verificare in anteprima quale potrebbe essere il risultato finale in seguito all’applicazione di tali modifiche.
